We are pleased to share four of our Beyond School Walls programs made headlines recently: Wawa, AmeriHealth Mercy, Comcast-Spectacor and First Niagara.

• Wawa and Highland Park Elementary School’s “Reverse Day” was covered in December 1st edition of the Delaware County Daily Times.  The story spotlights several of the 37 matches who participated in this always exciting day.
• AmeriHealth Mercy recently highlighted their Beyond School Walls program with Widener Partnership Charter School in their company newsletter.  The program started in January of this year with 25 mentoring matches and is already making a difference.  The article speaks to the impact the program is making on the children and the AmeriHealth Mercy employees as well as the larger community.  Click here to read the full story.

• Comcast-Spectacor featured their Beyond School Walls program with the Fell School in South Philadelphia in a recent newsletter.  Click here for the full story and a great quote from Comcast-Spectacor Big Sister Stephanie.

• On November 29th, the First Niagara/Bridgeport Elementary School Beyond School Walls program held its first “Reverse Day” event, and two dozen First Niagara Bigs visited their Littles at Bridgeport for the first time.  Bigs and Littles ate lunch together and went on a scavenger hunt around the school to show their Bigs important places like the gym and cafeteria.  Bob Kane, Regional President of First Niagara, attended the event and spent time getting to know many of the matches.  The event was covered on NBC 10 News.
