Donate your gently used clothing and household items to Clothes for Kids’ Sake and support our youth mentoring programs. 




Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region is partnered with Clothes for Kids’ Sake, a non-profit organization established with the mission to help support local Big Brothers Big Sisters youth mentoring agencies. They collect donations of gently-used clothing, housewares, books, toys, etc. from members of our local community, and deliver these items to Savers thrift stores. The revenue from the items sold comes directly to Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region!

Making a donation is easy!:
1. Schedule a free donation pickup online or by calling 1.877.336.8828.
2. Leave clearly labeled bags or boxes outside your house on the designated pickup day.
3. A Clothes for Kids’ Sake driver will pick up your donation and leave a tax deduction receipt for you. Pickup is rain or shine!

Get Involved in our End-of-Year "Dorm Cleanout" Clothing Donation Drive

What We’re Looking for: We’re looking to partner with local colleges and universities for an end of year “Dorm Cleanout” donation drive, and to discuss potential long-term clothing donation opportunities.

How You Can Get Involved: Do you have a contact at a local college or university?  Consider connecting us!  Clothes for Kids’ Sake can provide the school with clothing donation bins to place in various locations on campus to collect donations of unwanted clothing and other items from students during the end of the school year.  The school will have control over everything: type and number of bins, where they are located, when they will be dropped off and picked up, etc.; and CKFS will coordinate all the logistics!  CKFS is also available to set up bins around campus on a permanent basis and can schedule trucks to pick up donations at any time of the year.

About the Collection Bins: Two types of bins are available: larger, green bins for outdoor spaces (measuring approximately 4.5 ft wide x 3.5 ft deep x 6 ft high) and smaller, brown corrugated cardboard barrels for indoor spaces.

Your donations are tax deductible, and a tax donation receipt is left at your front door at time of pickup. Due to US Postal Regulations, the tax donation receipt cannot be left in your mailbox.  Please consult IRS Publication #526 for information regarding deductibility of non-cash Donations - Fair Market Value.
